Nigel, it's Short-eared Owl (note black over the eyes. Very intersting photo!

Thanks ASkar, I was on an ice breaking vessel carrying out a seal survey when I saw the Owl. It was not frightened at all by the vessel. I think it must live on the Offshore islands that Agip/NCPOC have nearby. I have posted other photos but am not sure what the birds are and would appreciate if you can identify them for me.
