To south of Shelek to mountain side there are fields. On previous time it were grape and tabacco fields. But now most of them are vacant. Landscape is typical Tien Shan foothills. From time to time Pied and Isabelline Wheaters, Calandra Larks apeared. Both Wheaters and Larks were singing.

The flock of Little Ringed Plovers, one Common Snipe, one Common Sandpiper, many Masked and Citrine Wagtails on the small lake. On the trees near the lake Greenfinches singed. The Long-legged Buzzard sat thereabout this place. Uneasy Ruddy Shelduck flyed and hovering sat near first place. When I closed Shelduck repeated action and sat some far from second place. My appearance alarmed all birds. Plovers also crying flew around me, Long-legged Buzzard and Snipe flew out, Wagtails flew to another side of the lake.

When went ot mountain side flushed one Booted Eagle. On the gorge biginning there are bushes and several old large ashes. There are many birds in this place. Corn Buntings sing all around and continual. Black-throated Thrushes hidden in bushes. Saw one fluing Black Redstart. Flock of Sarlings were fed buds on old ash. Two unusual to wild Mynahs. One Great Grey Shrike hunted on bushes.

After the dinner went to opposite from Shelek side to the south. Here are another landscape. Desert with little salt swamps. After dinner time therefore not much birds. At first saw Turkestan Shrikes and Pied Wheaters only. On Shelek river's branches saw two Black-headed Gulls, five Greate White Egrets, pair of Mallard Ducks and several Lapwings.

On backward road saw common to semi-desert birds – Turkestan Shrikes and Common Kestrels. But not all around is desert. The roadside near Sarybulak is little but true marshes. The frogs' croak is more loud than birds' songs. When I drived beside swamps the pair of Night-Herons flushed from reeds. Several secinds two beauty grey birds flew near my car. I stopped and birds took ground to roadside again. To my regret another car flushed Night-Herons again. Birds flew to opposite side and took ground to marsh. But I didn't find its. It is a pity.

On come back I was onlooker a sublime scene. At 50 kilometers from Alma-Ata saw a grand flock on the sky. Went against the sun therefore didn't spy what birds it were. Thought Rooks or Crows. But closing saw that it were Cranes. Several thousands Cranes! Stopping I photographed bird. Cranes disorderly circled several minutes and further flew to north ordering in action. It were Demoiselle Cranes mainly but Common Cranes also.
