Seeing the photos now , I would say this is most probably a Heuglin's Gull ( Larus fuscus Heuglini ) . A 2nd calendar year bird. The moulted feathers on the mantle and scapulars look dark grey and also the flight feathers ( Primaries ) seem to be in god condition . The streaking density and pattern on the head fits also .
